Sports Chiropractic FAQs in Portland OR

Sport Chiropractic FAQs in Portland OR

Here at our Portland chiropractic office, we receive a lot of questions about our sports injury treatments and their success rates for our patients from Portland, Gresham, Camas, Happy Valley, Fairview, Troutdale, as well as Vancouver, WA. Our chiropractor has taken the time to answer some of the most common questions we receive so that you can make an informed decision about your sports injury treatment.

What types of sports injuries do you treat?

We treat musculoskeletal sports injuries, including back, neck, shoulder and knee pain, strains and sprains and tendonitis. A lot of individuals come to us to receive treatment for frozen shoulder, runner’s knee, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, tennis and golfer’s elbow, sprained ankles and whiplash.

What treatments do you offer for sports injuries?

We offer chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, physical therapy and nutrition counseling for sports injuries. Many sports injuries are a result of minor misalignments in the vertebrae and extremity joints. These misalignments cause incorrect joint movement, which can contribute to tendonitis, repetitive motion injuries and sprains and strains. By correcting these minor misalignments, we are reducing pain and inflammation and promoting proper joint movement.

Physical therapy is used to rehabilitate weak muscles and restore range of motion, and our nutrition services help ensure you are getting the proper amounts of meats, fruits, vegetables and grains to promote healing.

Will your holistic, non-invasive treatments really lower my pain, heal my injury and remove the need for surgery?

Receiving chiropractic care for your knee, back, neck and joint injuries can really lower your pain and reduce or eliminate the need for surgery. Chiropractic care is an alternative treatment and a conservative approach to treating a wide range of sports injuries. Many individuals seek treatment with us to lower the number of pain pills they take each day, improve their overall health and reduce or eliminate the need for surgery, and we are proud to announce that our holistic treatments often result in lower pain and help people avoid expensive surgeries with long recovery times.

How long will it take before I notice a reduction in my pain?

Many individuals feel better after the first few treatments. Some even notice a reduction in pain after the first treatment. However, it usually takes a few weeks for individuals to notice a dramatic decrease in their pain.

How long will I have to receive treatment for my injuries and knee pain?

Our chiropractor can give you a treatment estimate for your sports injury or knee pain after your initial evaluation and first few sessions. Since everyone’s’ injuries are different, exact treatment lengths are hard to determine without a physical examination and medical history. Some injuries heal within a matter of months. Other injuries take much longer to heal.
